Skype for Business App Reviews

Its like they took the buggy and clunky behaviour of Lync and combined it with skypes non-responsiveness. Does anyone even try and use this before its published?

This new version is garbage. It doesnt join conferences and let me view presentations. Its a POS avoid avoid avoid.

Im missing mainly the whiteboard and apple pen support, which I hope should be not a big deal to add! If desktop/APP share would be add as well it would be great to share my office 365 documents as well... Otherwise it works for me...thanks to have that on an iPad!!! Great benefit!

Honestly , Im very disappointed about skype for business , really ? They called business ? I can only hope they will realize they made a huge mistake and release and update very very soon with all the Lync capabilities and features and hopefully more ......

It always shows that four of the conversations as unread. Im sure that all messages are READ properly. Re-read the "new" message doesnt work. Theres no feature to mark message(s) as READ. Give me back Lync...

Lync was better....this new version is awful.

This app is not an upgrade unfortunately. While it looks nicer its performance is much worse. Most of the time i do not get notifications but a number icon does pops up. This doesnt help me as I would be required to constantly look at my phone screen to see if there are messages. Great job Microsoft.

Cant even join because the button is hidden behind the keyboard. Fix this asap. What a stupid screw up.

We have been trying to build a communication environment around lync/Skype or whatever Microsoft tries to call it next. It has been challenging. Lync was bulky, finicky, minimally adaptable to the user and not intuitive. Still, it met minimum reliability expectations to allow it to be usable. The whole thing fell apart with the change to Skype for Business. It is good to change the interface and streamline functionality but the piece of software has to work. Calls are dropped, audio quality is poor, performance reliability is below acceptable levels and the interface, while redesigned, is still alien and non-intuitive. The result is that we started with an app that we could, with difficulty, build a communication strategy around and moved to an app that made us drop the whole thing in favour of older more reliable technology. That is still not the biggest problem. The real issue is that our fear of loss of reliability every time Microsoft decides to rebrand this has now stopped us from trying. What is the point of putting all this effort into something that will fall apart once a new forced update comes along?

There is no way to configure the application to allow viewing of screen sharing while on cellular network as this functionality is now ONLY available when you are connected to Wi-Fi. The old Lync application allowed manual configuration of this setting providing me (the user) choice of screen sharing over cell network if so desired Boo for this change, taking choices out of my hands seems silly and arbitrary.

When logged in, I dont get notifications my my computer. Then when I use Skype on the computer, I dont get notifications on the phone. This causes me to miss messages all the time. I want notifications on all logged in devices.

Truly terrible. This is likely the most confusing interface I have used, and most of the time it doesn’t work properly. I was ok with Lync, but this is a disaster.

No contact list, not in sync with my skype account, conversation history 4 months old, etc. Back to school, learn how to build apps

Faster and more reliable than previous versions. Contacts search works every time now. Great work!

Since I got the update it still works but the notification badge always has a 1 unless I sign out.

This is quite possibly the worst app ever! Once youve figured out how to get it to connect to your Corp server (which is really just M$FT), it constantly gives you a cannot connect message but I get parts of messages coming to my device?!??? Wow! Good work! Should not even qualify for 1 star!

Does not work on iPad pro. It crashes on opening.

This app in its current state is basically useless. Push notifications are non existent. The only way to know if you have a pending message is to actually open the app. Useless if you ask me, might as well just use email. At least then you get a notification. If they can fix the notification issue, then this would be a great product but until then, nah.
